Prodigy Education, a leading provider of digital game-based learning, partnered with FuelK12 to launch and scale its Educator Enablement program. Prodigy needed a dependable partner to help grow its footprint among school districts. The collaboration with Fuel began at the program’s inception and has since led to impressive results, including more than 120 district partnerships within ten months. FuelK12’s sales development representatives (SDRs) have played a key role in lead generation, setting up Prodigy’s internal systems, and maintaining strong ongoing communication and support.

“I’m Dr. Josh Prieur. I work at Prodigy Education. I’m the Director of Educator Enablement,” begins Josh, as he introduces his role and the mission behind one of North America’s leading K-8 EdTech companies. Prodigy Education is a game-based learning platform that delivers engaging digital experiences combining adaptive learning with gamification.

Josh shared with us, “What we do is digital game-based learning. We help students love learning by taking learning and wrapping it up in a game wrapper. So as they play, they get excited about the educational content they’re learning.” The company’s core offerings, Prodigy Math and Prodigy English, bring curriculum-aligned content to life through interactive games. Part of what makes these offerings so accessible is that they come at no cost to students, teachers, parents, or schools. So, students can play and learn at school and then do the same at home in the evenings and on the weekends.

As Prodigy set out to expand its reach to more school districts, they partnered with FuelK12. They aimed to build a scalable, high-impact outbound sales strategy specifically designed for the K-12 EdTech space.

Prodigy Education‘s Success Story Snapshot

  • Challenge: Launch and scale the new Educator Enablement program with no prior lead generation infrastructure.
  • Solution: End-to-end SDR support from Fuel Sales, including lead generation, CRM setup, training, and ongoing sales operations.
  • Result: Added 120+ school district partnerships within 10 months, more than half of which were sourced by FuelK12 SDRs.
  • Impact: Accelerated go-to-market timeline and early traction in the K-12 EdTech space, increased internal efficiency, reduced operational burden, and provided a scalable infrastructure for long-term growth in educator partnerships.

The challenge

When launching the Educator Enablement program, Prodigy Education had no prior internal infrastructure for lead generation. “We didn’t have lead generation. We started the program, and Fuel was there with us at the beginning,” Josh recalls.

It meant that the company wasn’t trying to fix a broken system. Instead, they were building from the ground up and needed a reliable partner who understood the K–12 EdTech landscape and could provide end-to-end support from initial outreach through CRM setup.

“We launched the Educator Enablement program at Prodigy just about a year and a half ago. And we started and launched with Fuel right by our side,” says Josh.

Before committing, the team explored several options. Josh shared, “We evaluated what FuelK12 offers versus a few others. And we really liked Fuel’s model of really helping people learn what it means to be an SDR, get them trained, go through a boot camp, and then really accelerate into being highly effective sales development reps.”

The solution

Prodigy’s introduction to FuelK12 came from a personal connection. “We met their CEO, Dan, at a conference. He came and chatted with us and said that you know, he worked with a lot of others in our space.”

After hearing about FuelK12’s track record, Prodigy made the decision to collaborate. They immediately felt supported by the onboarding and alignment process. Josh shared that he liked that “as we started, we shared the effort on getting the playbook ready so that they had a really clear understanding of what our goals were, of the ins and outs of our product.”

Prodigy put special emphasis on collaboration and customization, and FuelK12 met this need of theirs. We understood Prodigy’s needs before thinking of ways to set their SDRs up for success.

According to Prodigy, one standout feature was FuelK12’s sales operations support. “They helped us choose our CRM and they helped us get our CRM set up, and they still help us with sales ops to this day,” Josh remarked.

Josh also highlighted the ease of ongoing engagement: “It’s really not a lot of work for us, which is great. It’s a lighter lift. We meet with them really regularly, every other week… Their SDRs communicate with us on Slack so we have a clear understanding of how their progress is going, and we can help celebrate the wins.”

The impact

FuelK12 quickly proved their worth through measurable outcomes and an efficient, well-managed process. Within ten months of launching the partnership, Prodigy had dramatically expanded its district reach.

Josh shared, “Through their lead generation efforts, [FuelK12] helped us launch to over 120 school district partners in 10 months or so. So pretty astronomical growth.” Even more impressive was the quality of the leads and the relationships they enabled.

Prodigy found out that half of their district partnerships were sourced by FuelK12’s reps reaching out to schools and districts. They also realized that the provider’s messaging really resonated with their clients.

Josh praised the SDRs’ professionalism and ability to set the stage for productive demos: “The SDRs are really professional. When they communicate with school district leaders, they’re able to convey their message, help with discovery, and then set our account executives up for success.”

FuelK12’s SDR training model stood out from the beginning. The SDRs go through a boot camp that sets them up for success. Since the FuelK12 team handles them, their coaching and management take place in-house on a day-to-day basis. As a result, Prodigy’s internal team could stay focused on core priorities while maintaining a strong connection with Fuel’s sales efforts.

Josh explained, “For us, we’ll plug in to help support with some training here and there… but really, the day-to-day management and logistics is all handled by FuelK12, which takes a lot off our plate.”

Key outcomes

  • High-quality SDRs: Prodigy Education was happy with the quality of SDRs provided by FuelK12. The high-quality output and personalized approach helped Prodigy connect with decision-makers in their market.
  • Regular reporting and touch points:Prodigy Education received weekly reports that helped them track the progress of their campaigns and analyze results. Josh shared, “We have a clear sense of how we’re trending, what’s working, what’s not, and really strong two-way communication and actionability.”
  • Results-oriented communication:The communication between district leaders and Prodigy increasingly resulted in huge results. Prodigy noticed that with FuelK12’s assistance, these leads turned into partnerships, exactly what they set out to do.

Client satisfaction

In addition to their consistent delivery of results, FuelK12 earned praise for their collaborative spirit and exceptional support. “I would say that the Fuel leadership team is exceptionally professional. They’re strong communicators, and I feel like they really go the extra mile when we have needs or questions,” Josh shared.

Even when Prodigy Education needed support outside regular hours, FuelK12 was there. “I really value that they go the extra mile, including outside of traditional work hours, to make sure that we have the support that we need.”

When asked if he would recommend FuelK12 to others, Josh responded without hesitation, “FuelK12 will get you qualified leads really quickly, and that’s the biggest value they bring to the table.” He further emphasized that FuelK12 can deliver similar results regardless of your vertical.

Looking back on the partnership, Josh attributes much of Prodigy’s district outreach success to the foundational support provided by FuelK12. From choosing the right CRM to scaling outreach through expertly trained SDRs, FuelK12 enabled Prodigy to grow efficiently and sustainably.

He encourages other businesses to partner with FuelK12, “Give them a try, communicate with them, get a sense of what they do. Rest assured, they’re going to provide you with world-class support to help you grow.”
